NOTICE NO 1/1994
AMENDMENTS TO SEAFARERS REHABILITATION AND COMPENSATION ACT 1992
The Transport and Communications Legislation Amendment Act 1993 received the Royal Assent on 18 January 1994.
This Act contains a number of amendments to the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992. These amendments include provisions relating to:

company trainees;
-
travel for the purposes of attending a medical examination, medical treatment, and rehabilitation; and
-
increased funeral benefits.
The amendments to the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992 took effect from 18 January 1994.
Copies of the Transport and Communications Legislation Amendment Bill (No 2) 1993 may be purchased from the Australian Government Publishing Service bookshops. The Act (the substance of which is unchanged from the Bill) should be available from these bookshops within a few weeks.
