NOTICE NO 3/1998
INDEXATION – LEVEL OF BENEFITS FROM 1 JULY 1998
In accordance with Section 23 of the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992, the maximum statutory benefits (other than weekly compensation payments) increase on 1 July each year in accordance with changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the previous calendar year. If there is no increase in CPI, the maximum benefits are unchanged.
For the 1997 calendar year, the CPI decreased 0.2. Therefore there is no change in maximum benefits from 1 July 1998. The level of benefits is set out on the back of this Notice.
