2008 Seacare Awards & Conference
The Seacare Authority Awards and Conference were held on Thursday 16 October at Doltone House, Pyrmont Point in Sydney.
Winners of the 2008 Seacare Awards were announced at the Awards Gala Dinner.
The Seacare Awards & Conference events provide a unique opportunity for all participants in the Seacare scheme, as well as the Australian Maritime Industry generally, to come together to learn from positive initiatives and celebrate achievements.
The Seacare Awards & Conference are held as a part of the National Safe Work Australia Week. They are also timed to mark the Seacare Authority's Sea Safe Work Day.
This year's events were the fourth time the Seacare Authority has held the Seacare Awards & Conference. Previous events took place in 2006 in Melbourne, 2004 in Sydney and 2003 in Melbourne.
The Seacare Awards & Conference attracts attendees from industry employers (shipowners, ship operators, crewing agents), employees (seafarers, officers, onshore OHS and human resource staff), representatives of employers and employee associations, government agencies, OHS and rehabilitation professionals, trainers and educators, insurance providers, legal professionals and others.
