Seacare revised Permanent Impairment Guide – Stakeholder consultation

20 September 2022

The Seacare Authority is seeking submissions from stakeholders on the revised Seacare Permanent Impairment Guide (Edition 3).

The Seacare Authority has drafted a revised Guide to the Assessment of the Degree of Permanent Impairment (Edition 3). For the purpose of assessing compensation claims for permanent impairment and non-economic loss made under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) and the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992 (Seafarers Act).

Please note that the decision was made to re-make the current guide and not propose to adopt the Safe Work Australia national guide template as previously indicated.

While the Seacare Authority is proposing to remake the current guide, the Seacare Authority is taking the opportunity to make minor amendments to correct identified errors in the current guide.

The Seacare Authority is seeking stakeholder views on the draft Guide (Edition 3). A submission guide has been prepared to assist with making a submission.
