The Seacare Awards are presented every two years by the Seafarers Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Authority (Seacare Authority). The Awards recognise and acknowledge positive and successful initiatives by maritime employers, operators and seafarers who are leading the way in best practice workplace health and safety, rehabilitation and return to work achieved by individuals covered under the Seacare scheme.
The Seacare Awards program is aligned, where appropriate, with the Safe Work Australia Awards, and the winners of a number of Seacare award categories will be considered for the national safety awards.
This year will be the first year the Seacare Awards will combine with the Comcare Work Health and Safety Awards. Both events will be held on the same evening and award categories have been aligned. Both awards reward excellence in workplace health and safety, rehabilitation and return to work achieved by individuals and organisations operating within or providing a service for the Comcare and Seacare scheme.
