Guidelines for Accreditation of HSR Training Courses on OHS

On 25 November 2010, the Seafarers Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Authority approved new Guidelines for the accreditation of health and safety representative (HSR) training courses.
The Guidelines have been introduced in light of both the national harmonisation of OHS laws and Comcare’s recent review of its HSR training course accreditation program and processes. Accordingly, the guidelines are consistent with the Comcare workers' compensation scheme and the proposed national standards.

The Guidelines articulate the responsibilities of all parties in the training of HSRs, provide greater specificity of the length of training courses and the method of delivery and include learning outcomes for each learning objective.
