2025–26 Seacare Authority Annual Report
The Seacare Authority endorsed its Annual Report for 2025–26. The report will be tabled and published according to Government tabling guidelines. Once published, the report will also be available on the Seacare Authority website.
Health and safety representative online training course reaccreditation
The Seacare Authority considered applications for reaccreditation for the health and safety representative (HSR) online training courses under the Occupational Health and Safety (Maritime Industry) Act 1993 (OHS(MI) Act) from the following providers:
- Safety Practitioners
- Ferriby Group of Companies (Australia) Pty Ltd.
Both online courses have been reaccredited. Further detail on these courses is available at Health and safety representatives (HSRs).
Reform of the Occupational Health and Safety (Maritime Industry) Act 1993
The Seacare Authority continues to participate and contribute to Government legislative reform processes for the OHS(MI) Act, to modernise and harmonise maritime workplace health and safety laws.
Seafarers Safety Net Fund – Status and levy rate
The Seacare Authority considered the financial status of the Fund. The Seacare Authority agreed that no change would be made to the levy rate at this time.
The levy rate will next be considered at the Seacare Authority’s November 2026 meeting.
