Key outcomes from the 7 September 2023 Seacare Authority meeting

The Seacare Authority met in Canberra on 7 September 2023. The key outcomes of the meeting are set out below.

Exemption Guidelines

The Seacare Authority endorsed its revised Section 20A exemption guidelines and form, which have been published on the website. The revised guidelines include new requirements, including the timing of applications for exemption.

Seacare Authority Annual Report 2022-23

The Seacare Authority endorsed the content of the Seacare Annual Report for 2022-23. Once finalised, the Annual Report will be published on the Seacare Authority website.

Strategic risk management

The Seacare Authority considers its strategic risk register at each of its regular meetings, with a particular focus on the risk that the scheme may become unviable.

Members discussed the manifestations which could give rise to the scheme becoming unviable, and the progress against actions taken to ensure the continued viability of the scheme.

Next meeting

The next meeting of the Seacare Authority will be held in Melbourne on 17 November 2023.
