On 20 May 2013, the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Bill Shorten released the report of the Review of the Seacare scheme (the report).

On 30 March 2013, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) released the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) Review report.

Major Reforms to Shipping Announced
On Friday 9 September 2011 the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, announced a package of reforms for the Australian shipping industry.

Provides best practice guidance on confined spaces training required under Regulation 4.28 of the Occupational Health and Safety (Maritime Industry) (National Standards) Regulations 2003.

As part of the development of the plan the Authority is seeking the views of stakeholders on how to best deliver on the objectives of the scheme.
The Authority has released an issues paper on the current influences on the scheme and is seeking feedback from stakeholders on a number of questions.

Winners announced in 2010 Seacare Awards
The Seacare Authority announced the winners of its 2010 Seacare Awards at a gala dinner event on Thursday 28 October 2010. Close to 150 guests attended this year's Awards night at MAIA at Central Pier in Melbourne's Dockland precinct.
